Soon I'm going to start frame by frame animation again (Dpaint) and may start 3D stuff on it again but right now the only viable application for it is lightwave I think and I don't know lightwave enough. Right now I'm just getting back into Octamed and Fantavision. I want to learn some scripting and programming on it. I also have a plain WB3.1 installation and my customized OS3.9 installation.Īfter so many years away from Amiga, I really want to learn the workbench all over again. But it's not customized or stream lined to my personal taste. I like Coffin as a real world DEMO scenerio. Questo è un bel punto di partenza, Coffin non è facile da gestire ed aggiornare, i do not use it, i prefer OS3.9 BB4 systems AfA-OS based
#BUY AMIGA OS 3.9 UPDATE#
"AmigaOS 3.9 is the update for Amiga OS 3.5 - but it can also be installed directly on top of an Amiga OS 3.1 system. After all, I'm a legit 3.9 user now so I can sleep at night.ĮDIT: This is printed right on the Vesalia purchase page: Maybe I'll just go back to Coffin OS and start my customizing from there. Is everything on Amiga a money grab? I purchased OS3.9 to deal with the CoffinOS issue.
#BUY AMIGA OS 3.9 INSTALL#
I also told the OS3.9 installer that I did not want to upgrade the 3.1 installation, that instead I wanted to do a full install over 3.1, this is incorrect? No where in the docs did it say this was incorrect or that I'd have problems. If the icon problem is the only issue I can live with that. If my Amiga had no Operating system and a CD-Rom drive then I could have just installed OS3.9 with nothing before it and you say this is incorrect as well? I do have some grey areas around some icons that I didn't know what was wrong but I found a work-around. I'm not about to buy another AmigaOS license. Without installation 3.5 you have problems with the icons view (gray) You shouldn't need Giggledisk once you have a mountlist for the SD card - the card's geometry and parameters won't change provided you just use the same card.It is not the correct way to install OS 3.9, we start from 3.0 or 3.1 then it updates 3.5 and finally update 3.9. DiskImage can be used without the GUI - in fact, the GUI was only added afterwards. I'm not familiar with sdmountoff, but it would be unfortunate if the sagasd device didn't follow the standard Amiga methods of mounting with the automount flag. You should be able to mount the SD card easily with the Mount command, just like the CD-ROM is mounted. Have a look at the emergency boot startup-sequence. Thanks for taking this journey with me AmigaSystem. Otherwise i may just go to emulation first. I'm doing this all on a real amiga, not emulation because i want to see if it can be done. two different methods I want to get working. So that's kind of where I'm at right now. I attempted this last night but ran into issues running sdmountonoff and diskimagegui - so I need to figure out a way to mount my SD automatically in the startup-sequence then use disk image instead of disk image gui in the startup sequence (after a WAIT to ensure SD card gets mounted).
#BUY AMIGA OS 3.9 ISO#
So i will continue later.Īs for getting the mergency boot disk to work for me, i would need to mount the SD card (which requires sagasd drivers, FAT95 and giggledisk on the floppy) then mount the iso file (which requires diskimage files on the floppy) before the emergency floppy asks for the AmigaOS3.9 CD. I ran out of time before I had to start work this morning.

So i have to setup my current WB3.5 pre-installation environment with SDMountOnOff and DiskImageGUI in order to continue.

The problem I am having with that is I have to run the WB3.5 pre-install process first, then boot to it and continue with the 3.5 install process. So later today i am doing the WB3.1->Wb3.5->WB3.9 process.

I think it is copying files from the WB3.1 floppy. I still have the non-transparent icon issue. Run the AmigaOS3.9 installation on an empty SYSTEM partition. Partition HDD system partition (DH0) and format after reboot to floppy again.Įxecute SDMountOn/Off to mount SD card (the sd card has my OS3.9 ISO)Įxecute Disk Image GUI and mount the AmigaOS3.9 iso file. Instert second floppy containing HDToolBox Here's the steps I take (I did all this yesterday): My Bootable floppy was made using WB3.1 - I copied only files to it that I need to mount my SD Card and run DiskImageGUI. I'm using an ISO - But it still has issues on the install. Yes, I cannot do this - I do not have a CD-rom drive.
